Yesterday nominations for the 2011 Lucille Lortel Awards for outstanding achievement off-Broadway were announced. Daniel Beaty was nominated for an outstanding solo performance in Through The Night, produced by Daryl Roth in association with Jana Robbins, a solo performance where Beaty created six men and women of different ages.  Continue reading

Walter’s World: Through the Night

The word genius has been employed with regard to Daniel Beaty’s performance in Through the Night. The one-man play written and performed by Mr. Beaty, and directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, can presently be seen at Riverside Theater in the Cultural Animators Series through May 23. Genius is not an accurate description of Mr. Beaty’s performance.
