Nona Hendryx and Ki Ki Hawkins

On Thursday March 18, 2010, Behind the Music of “UnFiltered”Presented by the legendary Nona Hendryx took place at the Walker Space Theartre.  Committed to creating a platform for emerging artists to work from, Nona Hendryx and the HopeStock team (Joe Giammalvo, Christian John Wikane, Lindsey Wilson, Alex Soady and Ki Ki Hawkins) are moving full steam ahead with “UnFiltered.”

This special invite-only event gave the press an opportunity to interact with some of the artists who are scheduled to perform in the UnFiltered show at S.O.B.’s Thursday March 25, 2010.  Christian John Wikane interviewed each of the artists in attendance: Ki Ki Hawkins, Grammy-nominated Maiysha, Res-who beamed in via computer, Reuben Butchart, Russell Taylor, Shapes and Jafe of Viva Mayday.

In speaking with Christian about being Grammy-nominated, Maiysha said “…it is a tremendous honor…on a fundamental level as an indepenent artist…I’m an independent artist, I’m still on the hustle, still on the grind like everybody else.”   

It’s artists like Maiysha who are featured in the UnFiltered shows.  Artists from all around will converge and create for you at S.O.B.’s on Thursday March 25 at 8pm.
