HSA to appear on Project Runway, September 1st
Emmy-nominated television show, Project Runway will feature The Harlem School of the Arts on the upcoming episode, “The Art of the Matter”. Competing designers are paired with HSA Visual Arts students to create original artwork, inspiring their latest garment challenge.

Mayor Bloomberg Signs Bill Naming Street after HSA Founder, Dorothy Maynor In Harlem
On Monday, July 11th Mayor Bloomberg signed the bill making St. Nicholas Avenue between 141st and 145th Streets officially Dorothy Maynor Place. The New York City Council, sponsored by Councilmember Robert Jackson, approved the renaming of the street after HSA‘s founder and soprano, Dorothy Maynor. Continue reading

The Harlem School of the Arts Exceeds Million Dollars Campaign
In September 2010 the Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) began an aggressive and unprecedented campaign to raise $1 million in one hundred days, the most successful fundraising campaign of its kind in HSA’s 47-year history. HSA is pleased to announce the One Hundred Days One Million Dollars campaign achieved its fundraising goal totaling $1,073,250. Continue reading
