‘The Present Condition’ A Poem

October 18, 2015

I hate it.
I hate to see
All the enmity
That they concoct
Between blood brothers.

I can’t stand it.
I cannot stand
Their insistence
That we lie
And steal
And cheat each other
To get what we don’t even want,
Or just to get a seat
For ourselves,
Away from the glare
And the seat.

I loathe it all.
I loathe what they do.
Create a race
Just because we are running,
Conceive of the devil
When we’re not even thinking
About anything evil.
Telling us to fight
Against our comrades
And give to those
Who never deliver.

What good is the
Present condition?
I hate it.
I hate the way it is.
