Uptown Open House Expo Is Coming To Harlem Are You?

May 10, 2017

Nearly 80 years since Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn told us to take the A train, the neighborhoods of Upper Manhattan have flourished while retaining the unique spirit found in that famous tune.

In Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood, vibrant new retail and restaurants meet history and culture to make each community a great place to live and raise a family.

While many more New Yorkers have become interested in buying homes in Upper Manhattan, finding the right one can be challenging – especially for first-time buyers. REBNY is making that search easier with the fifth installment of our Uptown Open House Expo, which gives home seekers convenient access to quality co-ops, condos, and townhouses for sale throughout the area, as well as a selection of new rental units.

The Uptown Open House Expo will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2017, and will be hosted by REBNY, our Upper Manhattan Committee, and Experience Harlem. This public event is free of charge and is sponsored by Chase Bank, with additional support from First Republic Bank and State Farm Insurance.

Guests of the Open House Expo will have a special opportunity to view multiple properties across Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood through self-guided tours. All homes shown are for sale or rent exclusively through REBNY members.

This year’s #LiveUptown event will kick off in Harlem with a free breakfast and a meet and greet information session from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the The Cecil, located at 210 West 118th Street at the corner of St. Nicholas Avenue. Each attendee will receive the Uptown Open House Expo Listings Packet and Experience Harlem Guide, which collectively provide a roadmap for the day’s tours.

For those unable to attend the session in Harlem, the Listings Packet and Guide can also be picked up in Washington Heights from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the State Farm Office located at 740 West 181 Street, between Ft. Washington Avenue and Magaw Place. Additionally, all Expo listings can be viewed digitally by downloading the Experience Harlem app from iTunes or Google Play.

Property listings participating in the May 21, 2017 Expo will be shown between 12 and 4 p.m. that day.

I look forward to welcoming those interested in living uptown to this annual event, which showcases not only beautiful homes but also the expertise and professionalism of REBNY’s residential brokers and salespeople. I would also like to thank the members of REBNY’s Upper Manhattan Committee, led by co-chairs Brian Phillips of Douglas Elliman and Charlie Lewis of the Corcoran Group, for the work they have put into ensuring another successful Open House Expo.

Anyone interested in attending the Uptown Open House Expo is encouraged to register online. Those in need of assistance can contact Desiree Jones at DJones@REBNY.com.
