Veteran Artists To Be Showcased At The (Hope For The) Warriors Art Show In Harlem

The public is invited to join the national nonprofit Hope For The Warriors and Frontline Paper for opening night of the [Hope For The] Warriors Art Exhibit Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at El Barrio Artspace PS109.

The event is hosted by El Barrio Artspace resident artist and Fire Department of New York firefighter Michael Paulino, the free event aims to bridge a connection between the community and the warrior artist.

The exhibit will feature art by Hope For The Warriors, Frontline Paper-assisted veterans and several independent local veteran artists in different formats – watercolor, oil, and acrylic painting, photography, and Frontline Paper which transforms uniforms into handmade paper used to create storytelling pieces by veterans.

In addition to the exhibit from 5 – 9 p.m., there will be a free workshop open to the community hosted by Frontline Paper as well as panel discussion focusing on how the warrior artists have utilized art to tell a story and/or find healing. The panel will be moderated by Hope For The Warriors Senior Director of Clinical Health and Wellness Tricia Winklosky and include veteran artists such as Senior Master Sergeant Kevin Wallace. 

The free exhibit will continue to run daily, through March 6 from Noon – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, February 28, Opening night and reception 6 – 9 p.m.

Wednesday, February 28, Frontline Paper workshop, 5 – 9 p.m.

Exhibit continues through March 6, Noon – 6 p.m.
