VH1 Save The Music “Master Class” With Harlem Fave Patrice Jackson At Thurgood Marshall Academy

September 9, 2016

VH1 Save The MusicNext week, VH1 is holding there exclusive annual VH1 Save The Music “Master Class” at Thurgood Marshall Academy for Learning and Social Change.

The class will be led by professional cellist and Juilliard and Yale School of Music graduate, Patrice Jackson (who has played at Harlem School of the Arts, The Harlem Chamber Players, MIST Harlem, etc.,), who will use her expertise to execute a performance and hands-on, unique lesson – a lesson Thurgood Marshall Academy and underserved students wouldn’t have the opportunity to participate in if it wasn’t for Save the Music.

VH1 Save The Music started the music program at Thurgood a year ago, so it’s the perfect time for us to show how it has changed the school and proved to be an important tool to empower the students and assist them in becoming successful.

We love VH1 Save The Music belief that everyone, young and old, should have the opportunity pursue their passion. In honor of the TYLENOL® campaign #WhatMovesMe, that celebrates musicians suffering from arthritis who’s love for music drives them to play despite their physical condition, the brand has donated $75,000 to VH1 Save The Music, to help instill a passion for music in the next generation, like the kids at Thurgood Marshall. The donation will be made during this event.

Comeback for the update.
