Patch reports that the NYPD is trying to identify a man (above) who robbed a woman on the Upper West Side and was later spotted using her purse in a Harlem store, police said.

A 30-year-old woman was standing outside 205 West 88th Street, located between Amsterdam and Broadway, on Saturday night when she was approached by an unknown man, police said. The man pressed an unknown object against the woman’s back and grabbed her purse, police said.

The victim was not injured during the robbery, police said.

The man fled the scene of the robbery heading toward Broadway, police said. He was later spotted emptying out the purse inside a store on West 110th Street in Harlem, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a man in his 30s standing 5-foot-10 tall and weighing around 190 pounds. The man was last seen wearing blue letterman jacket and a black hoodie with a gray backpack, police said.
