Our 2016 Women’s Jazz Festival continues with another show-stopping pair of performers! Alicia Hall Moran presents her latest project, “Black Wall Street,” a staged concert depicting a story about money and the lesser-known tale of Black American finance in New York City and beyond. This dynamic body of work is a collaboration with classical Indian musicians and pulls from the histories of Black Wall Street, the Tulsa Race Riots and more.
Soulful songstress Mal Devisa, whose amazing new album can be streamed here, makes her Schomburg Center Women’s Jazz Festival debut.
The 2016 Schomburg Center’s Women’s Jazz Festival is curated by singer/ composer/producer/activist Toshi Reagon.
