CB 10 Resolution: Harlem Oil Boiler Conversions

…Harlem has the highest rate of childhood asthma in the country…
At Wednesday night’s General Board Meeting, Manhattan Community Board 10 unanimously approved a resolution (attached) that called for the City to prioritize Harlem public elementary, middle and high schools as they phase out the use of No. 4 and No. 6 oil boilers.

We received this information today from our friends at CB#10 regarding the West Harlem Group Assistance has begun accepting applications for occupancy in their new building, “The Dempsey” on 128th Street.  Attached is a Fact Sheet and Application for your use and distribution.

Applications must be postmarked by May 2, 2011.

Harlem Barrier Beautification: Spring 2011 Open Call

This spring 2011, the New York City Department of Transportation is partnering again with the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit & New York Cares to paint selected barrier sites in Harlem.
