If you reach first place, they will come. Fans of the National League East-leading New York Mets are snatching up tickets to the upcoming showdown series with the rival Philadelphia Phillies.
Already, more than 50,000 tickets have been sold for the first two games of the series, scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets sales for the third game, a businessman’s special on Thursday, are approaching the same level, a team spokesman said.
The Mets come-from-behind victory Thursday night over the Cincinnati Reds—their tenth consecutive win—brought them into a first place tie with Philadelphia. Continue reading
