Melba Stars In New Food Network Show ‘Fat Chef’

A new batch of chefs is joining the Food Network later this month starring Harlem Chef Melba, but they won’t be doing much cooking. Instead, the group of chefs deemed “fat” will be a part of Fat Chef, a Biggest Loser-type program, focusing on helping twelve professional chefs lose weight while improving their mental and physical health. Cake Man Raven Is Shut Down

Citing four “critical” sanitary violations, the New York City Department of Health closed Cake Man Raven Confectionery, the Fulton Street bakery famous for its red velvet cake and celebrity connections on Wednesday.

Passersby may not have noticed the two bright yellow Health Department signs pasted to the shop’s front doors Thursday night, which read “Notice: Closed.” That’s because two large plants obstructed the signs. More prominently displayed was a handwritten sign that read “Sorry for inconvenience, cakes sold out for today.” Continue reading
