Was that really Gov. David A. Paterson’s top aide, Secretary Charles O’Byrne, and Deputy Secretary for Public Safety Michael Balboni among the handful who were seated at the exclusive 11-table Rao’s restaurant in East Harlem Thursday night? Even Madonna and Lance Armstrong are said to have been turned away from the famous eatery, which gained a morbid cachet five years ago when someone was shot on the premises.

No Tour De Force In Harlem!

Kate & Lance Suffer Star-Power Outage in NYC(E! Online) ... 

We love star perks, but it’s nice to know there are some hot spots stars can’t muscle their way into. Case in point, the New York Post says Lance Armstrong and Kate Hudson dropped in for a bite at uber-exclusive Rao‘s. The darling duo were turned away, perhaps unaware that people angle for a spot at one of this East Harlem eatery’s eight tables for longer than Lance used to train for the Tour de France. And apparently the road from Almost Famous to almost seated is even more arduous.
