A Havana Night Benefit Gala With Harlem Fave’s Harry Belafonte And Danny Glover

danny and harry eventThe American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (AFLFC) will celebrate its 15th anniversary building cultural bridges between the U.S and Cuba at its annual fundraising event A Havana Night Benefit Gala.

Honorees Harlem fave Harry Belafonte, social activist, singer, songwriter and actor; James Durkin, Senior Vice President of Tishman Construction Corp.; Harlem’s Danny Glover, humanitarian, actor, and producer; Michael Krinsky, Senior Partner at the law firm of Rabinowitz Boudin Standard Krinsky & Lieberman, P.C. The festive Gala will take place on October 29, 2015, at the Copacabana Nightclub located on 268 West 47th Street in Manhattan.AFLFC is honored to present, in an exclusive concert, Dominican singer José Alberto “El Canario” and Cuban musicians Fernándo Dewars and Alden González from Septeto Santiaguero de Cuba performing hits from their album, Tributo a los Compadres No Quiero Llanto, nominated for a 2015 Latin Grammy.”We have many reasons to celebrate this year! We have witnessed historic changes in diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba. In addition to Tributo a Los Compadres No Quiero Llanto – the historic musical alliance between Septeto Santiaguero de Cuba and Dominican salsero, José Alberto “El Canario” nominated for the Best Traditional Tropical Album at the 2015 Latin Grammy Awards – the fun-filled evening will feature cocktails, a buffet dinner, an award presentation and a live and silent auction including priceless treasures and original works by internationally recognized Cuban and American artists such as Kcho, Yoan and Iván Capote, Carlos Quintana, Wifredo Lam, Paul Jenkins, Giancarlo Impiglia among many others.
