December 7, 2016

church-video-in-harlem-1964The video is filmed on a snowy winter day with a panoply of legendary to little known locations throughout Harlem, New York.

What’s great about the video is that it’s a window into Harlem’s past from Carolina Baptist Church with stained glass windows, Bethel Gospel Pentecostal Association, the Gold Moon Bar, Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, a funeral director’s shop under St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the “Kingfisch” locksmith shop, Wendy’s meat market – butcher’s shop, Lenox Rendez-Vous cabaret, to the Hotel Theresa, Count Basie’s Jazz Bar, Roy Campanella liquor store, Big Wilt’s Smalls Paradise shop, the Renaissance Cinema marquee, a sign for Hamilton Grange and the Alexander Hamilton statue and much more.

Here’s the great video:

Do you have any memmories of these locations?
